Kill, Co. Kildare: Gardai Seize Heroin Worth €2.4m Four Men Arrested: UPDATED

NEWS UPDATE:

Two men have appeared in court in Dublin charged in connection with the seizure of 12kg of heroin, the largest find of the drug this year.

The men, aged 26 and 28, were remanded on bail to appear again in court next month.

They were both charged with possession of the drug and possession with intent to supply.

The two are 26-year-old Brian Kavanagh with an address at Wheatley Hall in Clonee in Co Meath and 28-year-old Peter Murray from Bellgree Heights, Tyrellstown in Co Dublin.

Both men have been ordered to surrender their passports and sign on three times a week at Blanchardstown Garda Station.

Two men are due in court tomorrow charged in connection with the seizure of heroin worth 2.4m in Co Kildare yesterday.

Gardaí recovered 12kg of the drug when they searched a number of cars in Kill, Co Kildare yesterday afternoon.

It is the largest heroin seizure this year.

Clondalkin Garda Station – Four men detained.

Heroin with an estimated street value of €2.4m has been seized in Kill, Co Kildare.

The gardai stopped and searched a number of cars just off the Naas rd at Kill and seized around 12kg of the drug.

Four men, three aged in their 20s and one aged 51, were arrested at the scene.

A 26-year-old and 27-year-old were released without charge.

The other two men remain in garda custody.

They were taken to Clondalkin Garda Station where they are being detained.
