Warning After Former Prisoner Goes Missing

A potentially violent former prisoner has gone on the run after being released on licence from jail.

Police have issued a warrant for the arrest of Ivy Brown, 31, who was last seen in Edinburgh early on July 9.

Members of the public are being warned not to approach him.

“He is considered to pose a potential high risk of violence to members of the public and this risk may be heightened in a deteriorating medical state,” said a spokesman for Lothian and Borders Police.

“There are concerns for his well-being as he is not taking prescribed daily medication.

“Members of the public are advised not to approach him but to contact their local police, or Lothian and Borders Police.”

Mr Brown is known to have travelled to King’s Cross Station in London and and is currently believed to be in the South East.

Police think he may be in Luton, where he is thought to have lived and to have local contacts.

He is black, about 5’9″ tall, with short dark dreadlocks, of a stocky build, and has two distinctive gold front teeth.

He has a number of tattoos including one on his left hand which says “done one”.
